Where are the Alps? The Alps are situated in the centre of western europe. Surrounded by a mass of high flying cities such as Milan, Turin (Winter olympics 2002) Geneva and Zurich, the Alps offer a great contrast against modern city life. The dominating feature of the area is the shear size of the 82 4000 meter peaks and the smaller ones inter twined. The alps offers great mountain biking from beginner to pro and everyone in between. Also available in the region is a great range of relaxation spots and spas. Well known for its winter sporting activities which boomed in the 90's there is great amount of investment being put into the development of summer activities. Such great activities include Mountain Biking, Paragliding, Walking, Climbing and more. Bike Altitudes head quarters is based in Annecy, right next to the beautiful emerald lake that takes its name from the town. This summer we are offering a great range of epic cross country, enduro, freeride and downhill holidays around the area. La Clusaz:

The leading mountain bike resort in the village of La Clusaz is continuing to develop mountain biking and make improvements to the area for all riders, from beginners right through to experts.

The ski patrol and rescue service are following the advice of champion Antonin Lieutaghi and are working daily to maintain the quality of the circuits. The opening of the Crêt du Merle and Crêt du Loup chair lifts means that beginners can access a new downhill track, as well as a four cross track, covering an astounding vertical drop! With all these improvements and facilities, mountain bikers of all ages and all levels will be in their element: La Clusaz is the place to be for mountain biking!

La Clusaz is part of the Aravis freeride area (La Clusaz, Le Grand-Bornand, Manigod, Saint-Jean de Sixt) and offers a huge mountain biking area which combines 22 freeride and cross-country trails and 14 family circuits.

La Clusaz is easily accessible from one side by our home of Annecy and the other 30 minutes from Geneva. This makes La Clusaz the ideal spot for short weekend breaks from city life.

Les Carroz : Some of the great tours on offer such as the Transnorth Alps Les Carroz - Chamonix and the Alps Safari are run out of a traditional alpine chalet situated in this beautiful mountain town. Les Carrozs locals are set about marking the town in the world of mountain biking with their great new selection of mountain bike tracks

Les Carroz is part of the linked Grand Massif ski area with the aid of telecabins and chairlifts, it offers a large choice of trails and alpine scenery. The area is an undiscovered treasure, free from crowds of people and the feel of the ancient rural mountain villages remains. The ambiance is relaxed, the locals are friendly and welcoming to those wishing to discover the delights of their area.

The Grand Massif is the third largest ski area in the world with 265km of slopes, it comprises five linked resorts of Les Carroz, Morillon, Samoens, Flaine and Sixt. There are two permanent downhill tracks in Les Carroz covering over 4km with 800 metres of descent and one in Morillon only 10 minutes ride from the top of the Les Carroz telecabine.

Nothing needs to be said about this place that hasnt been said already; Just as good for mountain biking as it is for Climbing, Skiing and boarding.
